PRIVATE CARAVAN & LODGE HOLIDAYS

Caravans & lodges to hire in Woolacombe.

YOUR LOCAL HOLIDAY GUIDE

Things to do in Woolacombe

Woolacombe Beach

Give the beach a day of its own, whether that means bodyboarding, learning to surf or simply enjoying the sand. Choose any lesson with a local operator and follow the beach flags and advice; a pleasant-looking sea does not replace information about conditions.

Potters Hill and the dunes

The National Trust's Potters Hill route starts at Marine Drive and has a shorter option as well as a longer circuit over Woolacombe Down. The climb changes your perspective on the bay. Read the terrain notes before choosing it for a mixed-ability group.

Morte Point nearby

From the separate village of Mortehoe, a coast-path walk leads around Morte Point. The rocky headland offers views back towards Woolacombe and opportunities to look for wildlife. Keep to the route and allow distance from the cliff edge rather than approaching animals for photographs.

Local shops, food & places to browse

The tourist information centre on the Esplanade sells maps, books and locally themed gifts. Pick up route information before a walking day, and use Woolacombe's food outlets for lunch or supplies to take back to your holiday home.

Planning your holiday in Woolacombe

Beach-level outings and the higher ground require different footwear and effort. Bring a way to carry water and extra layers on walks, and decide whether your group prefers a short climb or a longer circuit before leaving the park.

Choosing where to stay

Compare the park entrance with the beach and the route back uphill. Mortehoe is a separate village, so read the actual address when choosing between a Woolacombe beach-focused stay and accommodation nearer the headland walks.

Before you book, check the advert’s address, sleeping arrangements, park facilities and any extra charges with the owner. Use the search filters for features such as decking, a hot tub or a washing machine, and park facilities such as a pool or clubhouse.
